One night a couple of artists were talking about starting an art gallery, or maybe a store, or an art studio. Or maybe all three. They had a space in mind, a cool location but in a building that was in disrepair and slated for demolition. It would take some work, but the experience could be rewarding. Or it could be a disaster. The only way to find out is to try.
Teton Artlab opened September 1, 2008. The opening exhibit was titled,
"Interaction 1" and featured sculpture by
Sam and Jenny Dowd, photography by
Lisa Walker and
Tristan Greszko, paintings by
Travis Walker, sculpture by
Ben Roth, prints by
Tom Woodhouse, and mixed media art by
Sharon Trigg and
Craig Spankie. The opening was a great success, although the collaborative
interactive work,
"Teton Petting Zoo" had to be scrapped because of complications with the
"Bungie Eagle" exhibit.
