Acid Westerns at the Factory

Since the rest of Jackson has a closed sign hanging in the window, we decided to liven up these lonely off-season nights with a film series. Factory studios will be turned into a micro-cinema each Wednesday until May. Beer (courtesy of Thai Me Up Restaurant and Brewery), wine, and appetizers will be served. $5 donation.

What's an Acid Western? This will help explain things.

Here's the schedule:

The Shooting - 1968 - 82 minutes
Director - Monte Hellman
Stars - Jack Nicholson, Millie Perkins

April 20th. 7pm
El Topo - 1970

Stars - Alejandro Jodorowsky, David Silva, Paula Romo

April 27th. 7pm
Dead Man - 1995 - 121 minutes
Director - Jim Jarmusch
Stars - Johnny Depp, Gary Farmer

Letterpress and New Opening Video

Some new videos from our letterpress class in San Diego with Tim Butler and Quality Letterpress. We loved working on the 100 year old foot powered Chandler and Price. Hopefully, this is the same press we will have for our upcoming Letterpress classes.

San Diego Streets

We were in San Diego recently and took a day to explore the Street Art exhibition at the Contemporary Art museum. The museum also commissioned some of the world's best known street artists to create public works throughout downtown San Diego. The placement of the Shepard Fairey mural on the side of an Urban Outfitters was weird, but the Barrio Logan works were as real as it gets. Homeless camps everywhere, heroin addicts roaming the streets, and not an Urban Outfitters in sight.

Factory Studios Grand Opening

Thursday night's grand opening of our newest project, Factory Studios, was beyond all of our expectations. Hundreds of people toured the studios and we had a great time sharing our work with everyone. More about the factory here and here.
